If the Browns would have waited until after the Super Bowl to hire a head coach, Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn reportedly would have been all ears.

After the Seahawks’ dominant 43-8 victory in Super Bowl XLVIII, Quinn told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he “certainly would’ve been interested” in the Browns’ coaching position.

The Browns hired Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine on January 23, ending a search that lasted the better part of a month. Quinn interviewed for the Browns’ head coaching job early in the process.

Considering the exceptional play of the Seahawks’ defense, Quinn would seem likely to be a candidate in other head-coaching searches in 2015.

In the meantime, he gets to work with a truly special group.
