The Seahawks reportedly have designs on signing free safety Earl Thomas to a new contract in the offseason.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, signing Thomas for the long term is the Seahawks’ “top priority” in the coming offseason.

One of the core players on the NFL’s top defense in 2013 and a three-time Pro Bowler, the 24-year-old Thomas has intercepted 15 passes in four NFL seasons.

Thomas has one year left on his rookie contract. He is slated to make $4.625 million in 2014, per Rotoworld.com salary data.
