The Seahawks are opening up a nice lead, but their failure to get into the end zone has left an opening for the Broncos.

Seattle’s second drive ended in another field goal, moving the margin to 8-0. But Seattle seemed to be on the verge of scoring a touchdown, until a holding penalty on first and goal from the six derailed a promising drive.

Along the way, the Seahawks converted three third downs, including a 37-yard pass to receiver Doug Baldwin on third and five from the Denver 43. The big gain happened via a crossing pattern off the line of scrimmage that helped Baldwin get behind cornerback Champ Bailey. Quarterback Russell Wilson lobbed the ball perfectly into Baldwin’s hands.

Still, if the Seahawks don’t start finishing drives, the Broncos could wake up and take over.
