Warren Sapp, Rick Ross bet $100,000 on Super Bowl

Getty Images

Last night, Warren Sapp asked Michael Strahan for forgiveness.  Tonight, Sapp may be asking Strahan for a loan.

Sapp, who not that long ago was bankrupt, apparently bet rapper Rick Ross $100,000 on the outcome of Super Bowl XLVIII, with Sapp taking the Broncos.  TMZ has video evidence of the wager.

Ross tweeted that he and Sapp placed a wager on the game, but the message left out an amount — instead using five dollar signs.

For folks who work in the media (particularly the league-owned media) gambling is frowned upon.

So, basically, look for Ross and Sapp to soon claim it was all a joke.

Sapp is such an idiot. It’s no wonder he’s bankrupt.

Can NFL Network fire this guy already? He’s turning into a huge joke.

Earn $100M+ and be broke. Not the brightest bulb on the planet. “It is all a joke!” It is no win scenario for Sapp now. If he wins, he can’t collect. If he loses, Ross will be able to blackmail strong arm him.

Six kids with five different women. A little over a year ago he was trying to get his child support lowered. Now he’s gambling a hundred grand?

Having Sapp pick the Broncos gives me confidence my Hawks could win this thing.

True. Sapp always says or does something foolish (or mean-spirited) — and ultimately, feigns that it was always meant as a big joke. He’s “clever” that way.

Sapp must get good ratings for his work on the NFL Network. Otherwise surely they would’ve canned his butt for all the ignorant comments and things he has said and done.

Then again every village needs an idiot…

Back to the Sapp/Strahan thing—the question that should be asked is, if Strahan was not granted entrance into the Hall yesterday, would Sapp have apologized? Sapp realized he was on the wrong side of history and did a quick mea culpa.

And now he’s sweating bullets that the Network doesn’t can him for betting. Soon he’ll be a Greeter in Vegas. That’s how this thing is going to end. Badly.

  34. thingamajig says: Feb 2, 2014 4:55 PM

100 grand? Sapp doesn’t have 100 bucks. Rick Ross is in for a surprise if he wins this bet.

Sapp has to try to be bigger than this week each year. I wonder how his wife feels about this didn’t they get in a scuffle before this game. NFL channel should get rid of this guy.
