The Lions have added some secondary depth at the beginning of the offseason.

The club has awarded former Saints safety Isa Abdul-Quddus on waivers, the NFL disclosed in its transactions on Monday.

The Saints waived Abdul-Quddus on January 7. In 11 regular-games with New Orleans in 2013, the 24-year-old Abdul-Quddus notched 13 tackles and defended one pass.

In three NFL seasons, Abdul-Quddus (6-1, 205) has appeared in 42 regular-season games, recording 74 tackles and intercepting two passes. In Detroit, he could compete to make the roster as a reserve defensive back and special-teams player.

Just so you know the “S” stands for safety which is the position he plays. His name is not Safti Isa Abdul-Quddus, as the Saints had him erroneously listed for two years.

Back up safety that provided pretty decent minutes for the Saints, and made some plays as well.

Decent pick up for the Lions.

I didn’t think this guy sucked in the limited action I saw him in. Not a bad waiver grab IMHO.

KayDeuce is a good player. He spent a majority of his time dealing with an injury last season. Thought to have had more potential than Rafael Bush who turned out playing great ball for us last year. Is more of a FS type tweener. Decent ST player in which he’ll have to play to make any roster.

I always liked this guy when he was with the Saints, partially because I was pulling for anybody who could possibly supplant Harper. He’s certainly not spectacular, but he’s a decent role player / special teams guy.
