Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and Patriots coach Bill Belichick have spent plenty of time trying to beat one another over the course of their careers with the most recent meeting coming a little more than two weeks ago in the AFC Championship Game.

At points during those meetings, you might have found yourself wondering how things would work if the two men ever wound up on the same side. That’s unlikely to happen on a football field, but the two men were able to get through a round of golf together on Wednesday at Pebble Beach in California.

The two men are both playing in AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and decided to pair up for a practice round at the course before the tournament begins on Thursday. Belichick had plenty of nice things to say about Manning after the loss in the conference title game, some of which he may have shared with Manning during the round even as the two men surely avoided sharing any football observations that may be helpful in the 2014 season.

Once the tournament begins, Belichick will find himself in more Patriot-friendly surroundings. Belichick, who will team with pro James Driscoll, will play in a foursome with Tom Brady and Ricky Barnes. Barnes’ father was a punter for the Patriots in the 1970s.
