San Diego Chargers receiver Danario Alexander missed the entire 2013 season after suffering a torn ACL during training camp in August.

Alexander had reconstructive surgery on his knee in August and has spent the months since rehabbing the injury. However, Alexander has since required a second surgery to repair the knee.

According to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Alexander had a secondary ACL surgery in January that has delayed the timetable of his return to the field.

Alexander is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March and now may not be ready for the start of training camp in July. It’s the second surgery to Alexander’s right knee. He’s had five operations on his left knee in the past.

Alexander caught 37 passes for 658 yards and seven touchdowns after signing with the Chargers midway through the 2012 season.
