New Lions coach Jim Caldwell might not have the most electric personality in the NFL, but he may be about to hire one of the best names in the league.

According to Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com, the Lions are about to hire Broncos assistant Jim Bob Cooter as quarterbacks coach.

Jim Bob Cooter.

I’m going to say it again, because it’s wonderful.

Jim Bob Cooter.

Cooter was an offensive assistant with the Broncos this year, after spending the previous season with the Chiefs. Prior to that, he worked with Caldwell with the Colts.

The former Tennessee quarterback has also worked as a graduate assistant at his alma mater. He played in six games there, but was Academic All-SEC four times.

And his name is Jim Bob Cooter.
