Mike Kafka finds a new home, signs with Buccaneers

The Cowboys weren’t the only team taking a look at Mike Kafka.

The former Eagles backup has found a home, as his agent just tweeted he had been signed by the Buccaneers.

Kafka was out of the league last season after going to camp with the Jaguars. He showed some flashes with the Eagles in the past, and is worth a shot on a thin depth chart.

The Bucs have Mike Glennon and Dan Orlovsky on the roster at the moment, so adding a potential backup with some experience in the league will help.

The early indications are that the new coaching staff thinks Glennon has promise, which could keep them out of the market at the position this offseason.

When Lovie says “Mike is our quarterback,” he’ll really mean it.

This is why the Bucs are the Bucs.

Terrible signing by a terrible franchise.

A QB that can’t beat out Blaine Gabbert & Chad Henne isn’t good enough to be a backup in the NFL.

Kafka is awful. But as long as teams keep bringing him to camp, more power to him.

Kafka was the first one to run up to the door of the pen when they visited the shelter.

The Bucs cut Jordan Rogers and Dan-O is a free agent, so they only had Glennon on the roster.

The Bucs have a mini-camp before the draft so they needed a second QB. It’s that simple.

Expect him to be cut before or just after the draft.
