Broncos right tackle Orlando Franklin spent some time on Tuesday with Toronto’s crack-smoking mayor, Rob Ford.

Franklin, who grew up in Toronto, was honored at City Hall by Ford, who read a proclamation congratulating Franklin for a good 2013 season.

“I truly wish you the best of success in your future endeavours, and win the next Super Bowl, buddy, again and again and again. There you go, partner,” said Ford, who was wearing Franklin’s jersey.

Asked for his thoughts on having Ford as a fan, Franklin answered, “Any time someone from Toronto supports me and the Denver Broncos, I’m happy.” Even if that support comes from the world’s most notorious mayor.

Franklin should be getting honored in Seattle.

He lost his individual matchups with Cliff Avril and was a big reason Peyton Manning was unable to get things going in the Super Bowl.

Why oh why couldn’t Chris Farley have lived long enough to do a Mayor Ford skit on SNL?
