Mike Lombardi’s son is still with the Browns, for now

Even though his father was fired earlier this week, there’s still a Lombardi on the Browns payroll.

For now.

According to Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com, Matt Lombardi remains with the team, even after his father Mike was fired.

Matt’s a part-time assistant in the personnel department, and the team said he could stay if he wanted.

“Matt is well-liked by both our personnel staff and coaches,” Browns spokesman Zak Gilbert said. “He’s welcome to stay in his part-time role but has not made that decision as of yet.”

It’s hard to imagine he’ll hang around for long, especially since he’s not a full-time employee. But unless his dad can find something for him at his next stop, he might not have a choice.

No one brings the coffees from Starbucks as quickly and efficiently as Matt.

Does Matt have the courage to stand in there in the face of onrushing, irritable, secretaries? Some of whom outweigh him by 50 pounds or more. Or is that part-time office job handed to him by his father too big for him?

But the Lombardi Trophy is still in Seattle.

Actually I thought I read somewhere else that he had just been promoted from seasonal intern to assistant position coach AFTER his dad was fired.

Haslam will have him clean Pilot Flying J Toilets for next couple of weeks, then fire him, just to rub a little more salt in Mike’s wounds. You don’t mess with Haslam’s Hillbilly Mafia, and get away clean!

Lombardi hasn’t been in that building 4ten years, so now it makes sense. Oh, and the fact Mike Lombardi’s been scouting for Billy while w/Browns in case his attempted mutiny on the guy who brought Mike back into league failed. His boss Joe Banner just like he betrayed Ernie Accrossi in his 1st go around in Ctown! Now, you national pundits that riduculed Ctown media for being hard on Mike this was the reason they were. They and I knew what was coming our team being setback yet again by arrogant egotistical know it all football guys, who weren’t! Mr. Haslam’s real mistake was ever hiring either of these clowns! Good riddance and welcome Ray may your draft be a homerun and may all non Browns fans go pound salt when we make the playoffs this year!
