Packers add tight end Raymond Webber

The Packers have added some depth at tight end.

The club signed former Jets and Buccaneers wide receiver Raymond Webber, whom Green Bay is listing as a tight end, on Thursday.

Webber (6-2, 237) played collegiately at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2011, spending the season on injured reserve. He has also had stints with the Jets (2012) and the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders (2013).

The signing of the 24-year-old Webber gives the Packers six tight ends on the roster for the time being, but Jermichael Finley and Andrew Quarless are slated to be unrestricted free agents in March.

    Poor guy.

Being picked up by the Packers is almost a worse fate than death.

Hopefully, he can get a properly fitted jersey with the Packers…

Ted thompson finds another gem. This guy is better than Gonzales and Graham combined. Future hall of famer. (I just wanted to get that in before a packer fan did!).

You get to make doofus comments about a perennial playoff team, while your team misses out on the playoffs entirely …again.

Viking fan is bitter because they will not be able to play in the arena football league for the next two years ..

I would rather have my favorite team need to fix a few spots to get deeper playoff run.

Cuz there are about 10 teams out there that need to fix quite a bit just to make the playoffs.

I understand how some of you fans can be as envious as you are.

Losing 40 games over the course of 4 season is pretty embarrassing.

who needs jimmy graham when “the squad” keeps finding these (soon to be) gems.

mark my words, this dude on “the squad” will become a perennial pro-bowler.

‘dis your boy, packers baller shot caller.

I don’t know a thing about him but my guess is that Ted Thompson saw some special teams value and its still a long shot to make the final 53.

But let’s really define long shot, its the Vikings winning a Superbowl. If you bet against every single time for the last 53 years, you would have been right every single time.

Poor vikequeen posters bitter as always. Do not have enough sense to just shut their mouths after finishing last. Do you get it you finished in last? To come on here and try and ridicule a team that has owned you is comical and not very bright.

Your version of the Super Bowl is right around the corner with free agency and the draft. You will once again claim an offseason championship and the rest of us will get to laugh when the product actually has to play games for real. That’s when reality sets in about poor draft picks and overpaid free agents. As your drunken hick says “Embrace the Suck”

False. Vikings have a championship. Everyone else except packer fans acknowledges that.

  23. shaggytoodle says: Feb 13, 2014 8:42 PM

Yeah my grades in 1 and 2 grade really suffered from that rough stretch. At least when I said they would turn it around and win a Super bowl in the next decade I was right.

Does that trophy read Minnesota Vikings on it that ur refering to….or not so much?

with the arrival of the super bowl, no one cared about NFL vs. AFL when it came to naming the pro football champ. for the ’69 season it was the chiefs. so here we are:
    packers 13
vikings 0 … you know bagel, doughnut, goose egg, nada, zip, zippo, zip, zilch….. and my personal favorite …. nullity

    but alan page was good

  26. talonh says: Feb 13, 2014 11:37 PM

Contras so desperate for wins that he counts a Super Bowl loss as a championship season. That is the ultimate in losers mentality

  27. tangysizzl says: Feb 14, 2014 1:10 AM

Give the poor Vikings a little credit, they did win one NFL championship. No need to remind them that GB won 9 of those precious little things or that GB has 4 SB trophies to their zero because believe me they know.

But hey, they do have more division titles than GB so there’s something to be proud of…

  28. beekay31 says: Feb 14, 2014 8:49 PM

Hey Contra, and WHO won the Super Bowl that year the Vikings won the “championship”? Pretty sad when you have to list a technicality as your only win.

  29. beekay31 says: Feb 14, 2014 8:53 PM

If the Vikings can claim they won an NFL Championship, then every team that ever won the NFC Championship can claim the same.

  30. Frazier28/7 says: Feb 15, 2014 1:26 PM

So the packers have 9 technicality championships?

  31. tokyosandblaster says: Feb 15, 2014 11:01 PM

This guy is still a better QB than anyone on the Vikings roster.
