The Buccaneers have added a reserve cornerback with experience in Lovie Smith’s defense.
The club announced the signing of former Bears and Panthers cornerback D.J. Moore on Friday. The 26-year-old Moore was a fourth-round pick of Chicago in 2009 and played four seasons under Smith, intercepting 10 passes in 45 regular-season games.
Moore (5-9, 190) played two games for Carolina in 2013, notching five tackles.
The Bucs also disclosed the signing of tight end Steve Maneri (6-7, 280). The 25-year-old Maneri appeared in four regular-season games for Chicago in 2013. His most productive season came in 2012, when he caught five passes for 51 yards in 13 games (eight starts) for Kansas City.
