The Chiefs have reportedly signed a potential restricted free agent to a new contract.

According to NFL writer Brian McIntyre, the Chiefs and tight end Richard Gordon reached a one-year, $645,000 deal this week.

The 26-year-old Gordon signed with the Chiefs on December 18 and played in the club’s final two regular-season games. He also had a stint with Pittsburgh from October 15 through December 7, though he didn’t appear in any games.

A sixth-round pick of the Raiders out of Miami (Fla.) in 2011, Gordon played 27 regular-season games in his two NFL campaigns with Oakland, catching three passes for 11 yards and a TD. The Raiders waived him in final roster cuts this summer.

The Packers could sign this guy and turn him into the next Mark Chmura. If he would have signed with Green Bay, he could’ve been a star

We’ll just cut him if he isn’t contributing.
