Incognito: “You could not define me in 144 years let alone 144 pages”

Via his verified Twitter account, Dolphins offensive guard Richie Incognito appeared to offer a 113-character take on the Wells Report on Friday night:

“You could not define me in 144 years let alone 144 pages Mr Wells,” Incognito wrote, referring to attorney Ted Wells, who headed the NFL’s investigation. “Thank you for your hard work and dedication.”

Incognito’s account appeared to be down at multiple points on Friday night.

Incognito also tweeted this on Friday night: “Bully? Or Friend…..” At the end of his tweet, he included a link to a suicide prevention hotline.

On Wednesday, Incognito alleged via Twitter that teammate Jonathan Martin had contemplated taking his own life.

Later Friday, Incognito would tweet: “Goodbye twitter. Be well See you on the other side.”

He ended the tweet with a smiling, sunglasses-wearing emoticon.

Twitter came from “the other side”. It got kicked out and isn’t welcome back.

  2. meatcarroll says: Feb 14, 2014 9:13 PM

Jonathan Martin is a joke and embarrassment to men everywhere. Free Incognito!

  3. mrmcl says: Feb 14, 2014 9:14 PM

With that statement, Rich set the dial on his time travel craft back to 1870 and returned to the era he grew up in..

  6. seahawksteven777 says: Feb 14, 2014 9:17 PM

Damn, that’d be a lot of disgusting and insulting things then.

  7. cruuuzcontrol says: Feb 14, 2014 9:22 PM

Dude, Richie. Just issue one of those obviously-written-by-my-agent’s-press-flak non-statements. Or say nothing. This? This is not helping your case.

Not that hard to define Richie Incognito.

    Workplace Bully.

  14. blackandbluedivision says: Feb 14, 2014 9:35 PM

Hate to be Capt. Obvious but this guy is not helping his case. If you bothering a guy and it’s clearly effecting him…you stop. Otherwise you’re simply a bully.

“Toughening up” is just an excuse bullies tell themselves to make them feel better.

Martin was in his second year. First year it questionable hazing, second year it’s harassment.

  15. bmorelady says: Feb 14, 2014 9:36 PM

All joking and snide comments aside. I truly believe some kind of counseling and anger management are in order for Incognito. He really doesn’t see how what he did is very wrong. I’m not saying he us the only one at fault here because he isn’t. EVERYONE involved in this shares blame. From the coaches who DID NOTHING, to all the players who watched it going on & DID & SAID NOTHING, to Incognito, Jerry, & Pouncey. Martin himself shares some redponsibility as well for not reporting it earlier or seeking help outside the franchise. These players have a union. One phone call, anonymously, to ask for advice would’ve handled it. A call to any player on another team. There were options. But I do believe BITH of these young men would do well with professional help

  16. lennydpocketqb says: Feb 14, 2014 9:40 PM

This guy is coming apart at the seems. He might want to use that number when a team signs Martin and he goes teamless next season.

  25. craniator says: Feb 14, 2014 9:56 PM

I don’t know , man . . . I like Richie and I still probably blame Martin more than I do him , but I don’t know if he’ll play again in the NFL. CFL , or some other league , maybe. This league ? It might be tough.

  26. 1rockyracoon says: Feb 14, 2014 9:59 PM

People will always test the waters and get away with as much as they can and the people in charge let Incognito get away with way to much and now he is paying the price. I just hope he is not the only one who has to pay!

People that think they are so complicated as to be merely misunderstood can usually be defined by one word starting with an “a”.

  40. shnakeriver says: Feb 14, 2014 11:05 PM

Oh yes, such a complicated and sophisticated man, that Richie. So hard to define. Lets give it try anyway….meathead.

  48. qdog112 says: Feb 15, 2014 12:23 AM

This is getting pathetic. It’s clear Richie has needed intervention for years. He has been enabled by all those who let him get away with his ways for so long.

Now he sounds like he has lost any semblance of sanity. If he has any family or friends, they should not leave him alone, but sleep with one eye open. Oh, and have a weapon handy.

  51. pacificajim says: Feb 15, 2014 1:39 AM

I do not care how desperate a GM or Head Coach is to fill a massive hole on their O-line — Richie Incognito is not the answer. He will eat away at the heart and soul of a team likes acid eats away at metal.

  52. sfm073 says: Feb 15, 2014 2:34 AM

We knew what type of person you were before u got to the pros and then your proved us right in St. Louis.
I really don’t think he had bad intentions with martin, but incognito is the definition of a meathead with serious anger and mental instability problems.

The great philosopher of our time: Richie Incognito.

  54. edelmanfanclub says: Feb 15, 2014 3:14 AM

What? People can be defined in one word or sentence based on their life time. No one lives to 144 so yeah, not a good way to put it dude. Stick to football, your the scholar type.

  55. middy8484 says: Feb 15, 2014 3:37 AM

    What a moron

  56. ivanpavlov0000 says: Feb 15, 2014 4:44 AM

I just read the entire report.

Richie Incognito sounds like he would do well with the Niners or the Pats or someplace where he’d get fired in a heartbeat for being “the tornado.” He needs to be on a team where the leash is short and “zero tolerance” isn’t just talk.

Incognito is the classic insecure bully who abuses other people to put on a show and reassure himself. He was such a jerk that people feared the consequences of telling him to dial it down.

One on one, without an audience, people say he’s capable of being a nice guy.

But unfortunately his actions demonstrate a long-term pattern of abusive behavior towards others including teammates, team staff, and total strangers.

When challenged publicly about his actions, Incognito feigns ignorance that anything he does is more than just fun. But the evidence shows that he knows better.

He clearly knows that his victims don’t like what he’s doing. He knows he’s crossing the line. That self-awareness gives him self-confidence issues, which he then tries to hide by being a huge bully.

I’d feel sorry for him if he was willing to own his behavior, but he’s not man enough to own up to any of his own actions. He’s pitiful and he’s a jerk.

  61. earpaniac says: Feb 15, 2014 8:13 AM

Obviously a person can be defined by even something as short as a word. I see your not there for your brain power, Richie. But even if you couldn’t be, we have your NCAA and other NFL experiences to go by. If he keeps on digging this hole for himself, I hope he can speak Chinese.

  62. tvjules says: Feb 15, 2014 8:27 AM

  63. sbaltimore says: Feb 15, 2014 9:00 AM

Really Richie? Most folks could easily define you in one word.

  64. cjas9298 says: Feb 15, 2014 9:08 AM

The report does not define him. Antisocial behavior from his second game at Nebraska to the delusional tweets from the last two days– and being dismissed from two college and two professional teams that, that defines him.

  67. sbaltimore says: Feb 15, 2014 9:41 AM

I’d pay money to see Incognito and Ayanbadejo locked in a room for a week with no way to escape. Neither one of the seems to be able to keep his mouth shut for more than a couple of minutes. It would be a blast to see which one survived.

  68. 2ruefan says: Feb 15, 2014 10:02 AM

PFT has been a hilarious microcosm of the sad state of America as this issue unfolds. Every new revalation of a tweet or text sways everyone back to blaming either Martin or Incognito, all the while being ever so politically correct. the board was awash with the “see, i knew Martin was a big baby, who doesnt deserve to pretend to be a man”. Now it’s back to how evil Richie is because you saw his real character in a different text. As if the evidence wasnt there all along. Incognito is a degenerate idiot, and Martin is too emotionally fragile. End of freakin story…

Speilman did NOT draft Ponder! He cuz a great job last Draft and he will have another this year! Last season it took 4 teams until their last drive to beat the Vikings and they had the 1 tie. With better coaching their record would have been 10-6 and now they have better coaching! There will be immediate improvement and within 5 years they will be contending again.
