Jeff Hurd to join Vikings as assistant strength coach

When Mike McCoy took over as head coach of the San Diego Chargers, he purged most of the staff remaining from the Norv Turner era.

That purge included the strength and conditioning staff manned by Jeff Hurd and Vernon Stephens.

According to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com and Sirius XM NFL Radio, Hurd now has a new employer.

Hurd is set to join the Minnesota Vikings as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Hurd spent 18 consecutive seasons in the NFL serving on strength and conditioning staffs for the Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs before being let go last season by San Diego.
