Report: Chargers sign CFL pass rusher Cordarro Law

Near the end of the regular season, the Chargers and Patriots both had defensive end/linebacker Cordarro Law down from Canada for a workout.

We’re not sure how things went in New England, but the Chargers apparently liked what they saw. Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego reports that the Chargers have signed Law to a contract for the 2014 season.

Law had 14 sacks for the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL last year, which was good for third in the league and second on his team. Law was not drafted out of Southern Mississippi and went to training camp with the Seahawks, but didn’t make the roster.

The Chargers saw several pass rushing options go down with injuries over the course of the regular season, providing a reminder that you can’t have too many people capable of getting after the quarterback.

Law joins wide receiver Dontrelle Inman as recent Chargers signees who spent last season in the CFL.
