Former Bears wide receiver David Terrell has been acquitted of a felony charge of manufacturing  cannabis with an intent to deliver and a misdemeanor charge of police battery, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.

Terrell was arrested on the charges in August 2013. He was found not guilty on Friday after a bench trial.

“I felt like I got my life back a little bit,’’ Terrell told the Tribune of the verdict.

Terrell, 34, was the Bears’ first-round pick in 2001. He played five NFL seasons, catching 128 passes for 1,602 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The judge took a look at Terrell and concluded that he didn’t have the mental capacity to run a drug operation.

It’s kind of hard to believe that he’s only 34.

Well it’s not like he was holding a budding Joe Montana back, so I think we can look past his deficiencies…

I still remember Chet Coppick saying the Bears should take Santana Moss over David Terrell……well I guess he was right.

I clicked on the external link to the full story and saw the picture and at a quick glance I was like, “What’s he doing with Micheal Douglas?”

Sounds like he is doing good work with his son and with that housing project he is involved with. I hope it really was a case of just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wish him much luck.
