Panthers raise ticket prices for first time since 2010

It’s a new day in the Carolinas.

The Panthers usually wait until the weekend of the ACC basketball tournament to announce ticket price increases, but this year they’re getting an early start.

The team announced that ticket prices would go up on average $2 to $21, with two-thirds of the seats going up from $2 to $5 each.

The Panthers have always boasted about moderately priced tickets, and they remain in the bottom half of the league on that account. They hadn’t raised prices since 2010.

Maybe with a playoff team and some degree of momentum on the field, they didn’t feel the need to buffer the news by hiding it among the basketball boxscores.

Well, here’s the silver lining to our cloud fellow Raider fans. Horrible play over the last decade and a truly crappy stadium sure do keep those tickets prices reasonable! I can’t imagine any ticket increases are heading Oakland’s way. Whoo Hoo!

    sigh…

Publicly funded stadiums for “non-profit” organizations.

That’s why we watch games from our couch. Raise the beer prices too. We don’t care.

Shame that the NFL game is getting unaffordable for the kind of blue collar hard working people that it started from.
