Last offseason, the Patriots added veteran safety Adrian Wilson, in what was viewed as a perfect Patriots signing.

But no one ever got a chance to see any evidence of that, as the longtime Cardinals safety went on injured reserve at final cuts with an Achilles injury.

Now, he’s apparently healthy and ready to prove it. According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Wilson is expected to be ready for the start of their offseason workouts on April 21.

The 34-year-old signed a three-year deal, and will cost them $1.2 million in cash this year. That’s a reasonable rate for a player who seemed like such a natural fit a year ago, and could help the Patriots even if he’s not an every down player any longer.
