Report: Redskins reach new deal with DeAngelo Hall

The Redskins made DeAngelo Hall go through the process of being cut and a pay cut last year, but now he has a new deal.

The veteran cornerback has agreed to a new four-year deal with the Redskins, according to NBC Washington.

Hall bounced back from a ridiculous stint with the Raiders and has become a very solid player for the Redskins, and they made it clear recently that he was a priority to re-sign.

Talks intensified in recent days, and apparently reached agreement today.

UPDATE 4:53 p.m. ET:  PFT has confirmed that a new deal has been reached.

Washington wants to keep their 20th ranked PASS Defense together.

Before people blast him for being overrated, just take a step back, pause & think about the Skins’ secondary and also note that the Redskins have a DB named Rambo who plays like the anti-Rambo for us.

“and has become a very solid player for the Redskins”

In 2012 he was one of 2 CB’s to allow 1,000 yards and throughout his entire career has been one of the worst tacklers ive ever seen.

    Lock him up!

Washington PASS Defense was ranked 27th in the NFL in QB rating.

Allowing opposing quarterbacks to average a 96.1 QB rating.

The 30th defense in the NFL just got significantly worse.

Meanwhile the Vikings are forming a top 5 defense with defense mastermind Mike Zimmer.

All that money for a wannabe Richard Sherman.

Hall is a great athlete but dude is a straight-up punk – the type who talks trash after bringing down an opponent behind deep in the secondary or shoving guys late out of bounds or when they’re getting up

Hall had a good year last year. Some of you can hate all you want about the secondary, but Hall wasn’t the problem. Good signing and good price. Your number one CBs will demand a lot more than 5 million a season. Well see what Hawks fans think of Sherman when he’s eating up there salary cap in a couple years.

To all you Redskins Haters who keep posting 20th ranked Defense,30th ranked Defense against the pass. D. Hall is not the entire Defense. Josh Wilson sucks which will be let go, we had three rookies and a couple scrubs, I agree. D. Hall was the best player in our secondary and D. Amerson!! So to all you haters bet your team did’nt win the Super Bowl this year either, because you cant tell me that all who are posting this crap are Seahawks Fans!! HTTR!!!! Good price for him!!

He’s a decent starter but they need a top corner opposite him and someone that somewhat resembles an NFL safety in the middle. But hey…as an Eagles fan I can’t talk much about safeties….but I’ll certainly be glad to see Desean Jackson fly by Hall for four more years. Especially if Hall picks off Romo a few times a year.

DeAngelo Hall is the definition of a guy who gambles constantly and loses usually. He gets a couple of SportsCenter-worthy highlights every year because he’s always trying to jump routes to get a pick-six, and winds up getting burned all the time. He’s patently terrible, because he’s repeatedly proven himself incapable of playing under control and in anything resembling a disciplined manner.

Hilarious to hear a Vikings fan talk about super bowl rings.

  16. dlr4skins says: Feb 18, 2014 5:12 PM

He’s not that bad. Best the skins have had since Green and Bailey (including Springs). He routinely shuts down receivers despite the Cover Zero and no pass rush to speak of without blitzing.

He’s needed to help bring FA’s and youngsters up to speed!

    Hall owns Dez Bryant !!

Does anyone even follow the Vikings? Wasn’t that the team that was moving because their stadium was unsafe?

  19. igster1 says: Feb 18, 2014 5:49 PM

    d.jackson owns hall

  20. olefballcoach says: Feb 18, 2014 5:49 PM

Anybody can be like big mouth Sherman.. all they have to do is get away with holding every play!! He will never be elite!!

  21. jermainewiggins says: Feb 18, 2014 6:13 PM

Charge1 must not follow football or know anything about it.

  22. charge1 says: Feb 18, 2014 6:41 PM

    And who is Jermaine Wiggins?

  23. rockthered1286 says: Feb 18, 2014 6:42 PM

For those Skins fans claiming that MeAngelo is your best player in the thin secondary- you DO realize that’s not a good thing, right? It’s like pumping your chest because you date the hottest girl in the trailer park.

  24. rg3andthensome says: Feb 18, 2014 6:48 PM

All the haters– This guy supports his team, always plays and is still dangerous.

Glad to have Hall back. He matures every year and the coaches and players like him. Fan favorite as well. Great to have him on OUR team. The REDSKINS

    HAIL 2014!

  25. jermainewiggins says: Feb 18, 2014 7:43 PM

Lol… he was a football player so thanks for proving my point.

  26. stevieskins224 says: Feb 18, 2014 7:50 PM

Like it or not this is a good signing. He wants to be a redskin and is a play maker on a defense that hasn’t had many big plays the last few years. Sure he looks really bad sometimes but it’s usually because he’s trying to make something happen. I also think that by the end of this deal he will be our starting safety. He’s a solid starting cb at a good price and will be a big contributor until some of the young cbs mature.

  27. ejm845 says: Feb 18, 2014 7:51 PM

What a waste he’s been done for a while now,I bet if they cut him no one would have picked him up

  28. 25cuts says: Feb 18, 2014 7:52 PM

Good news. Djax can keep burning him 4 more years! Go birds!

  29. jerrahsucks says: Feb 18, 2014 8:14 PM

Dez Bryant, Leshawn Jackson, and every receiver in the NFL say “thank You little danny”.
Meangelo “toast” Hall, making mediocre recievers look great for years.

  30. longislandblitz says: Feb 18, 2014 10:06 PM

Redskins also reached a deal to change the redskins name to “RG2” ,a tribute to Dan Synders best bud RG3

  31. ziplock10 says: Feb 19, 2014 8:21 AM

I’m sorry… So much talk of Meangelo… He was really good last year. They called for him to be in a zone defense alot. He really never had a problem covering Dezzy! I’ve seen worse and when this team has overpaid for other teams wanna-bes, its nice to see they can recognize an asset.

I still haven’t gotten over losing Ryan Clark and Antonio Pierce!!!! Trent Green!!!

  32. sportsstar4u says: Feb 19, 2014 2:38 PM

Knowing the Redskins, it is probably a 4 year deal worth $56 million.

  33. defscottyb says: Feb 22, 2014 12:35 AM

Love it! D Hall is one of my favorite players. He plays with passion and intensity and shuts down Dez twice a year. Skins were smart to re-sign this man.
