As career advice and image planning goes, it’s probably better than texting with Brett Favre.
So as he prepares to make his Scouting Combine appearance this week, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel was careful to solicit advice from his elders, including Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, Manziel sought Brady’s advice while working in San Diego with quarterback tutor George Whitfield.
While there’s only so much Brady can tell Manziel because they’re so different as players, Whitfield said Brady encouraged him to “ignore the noise,” a common phrase around Patriots headquarters.
Brady has been able to successfully navigate the fine line of football celebrity and success, which is something Manziel certainly needs to master as he tries to convince teams this week that Johnny Football is a thing of the past.
