Report: Titans would like to re-sign safety Bernard Pollard

The Titans are hoping to re-sign a pair of their defensive starters from a season ago.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean, the Titans are talking to prospective free agent strong safety Bernard Pollard about a return to Tennessee in 2014.

Pollard, 29, notched 99 tackles and intercepted three passes for the Titans in 2013. He spent the previous two seasons with Baltimore.

Wyatt also reports the club is “interested” in bringing back 28-year-old defensive end Ropati Pitoitua, who started 13 games for Tennessee in 2013. Pitoitua (6-8, 298) is entering his fifth NFL season. Like Pollard, he can test free agency if unsigned on March 11.

Just cause Pollards a heavy hitter doesn’t mean the guy can’t flat out play. And he’s a winner. I’d take him over Patrick Chung every damn day!

I don’t care who he signs with as long as his new team plays the Patriots.

Is this the first team that ever wanted him back?

The Ravens, Texans, and Chiefs are idiots.

Pollard played very well for the titans last yr (with the exception of the penalties) but was a very loud voice in the locker room as well on the field. He gave the defense something they were lacking. A loud mouth who speaks his mind and tells it like it is but a true professional. As a Titan fan I will b very upset if they don’t resign him.

So I guess Verner leaving is a sure thing. Sigh… to quote a great man, I’ve got it through my head, I just can’t break it to my heart.

After the safety play this previous season I by the ravens would like to bring him back too. But they’re too cheap when it comes to real talent. They’d rather throw all their money at guys like flacco and rice.

It seems that teams with two good safeties seem to do well in the playoffs.

Pollard takes his football career seriously. The guy’s a baller and wants to win.
