Tuck’s agent says Tuck is most “complete” defensive end on market

The Giants have a meeting scheduled with defensive end Justin Tuck’s camp in Indianapolis during the combine and his agent gave a preview of the argument that they’ll be making in favor of re-signing him before free agency opens.

Tuck’s agent Doug Hendrickson said that his client is at the top of the list of free agent defensive ends set to hit the market next month. It’s a group that includes Greg Hardy, Michael Bennett, Michael Johnson and Jared Allen, but Hendrickson says none can offer teams as much as Tuck can offer them.

“Justin is by far the most complete d-end in the class,” Hendrickson said, via Jordan Raanan of “He can play the 4-3, he can play the 3-4.┬áHe obviously had an incredible season last year with every stat he had with the tackles, tackles for loss, the hurries and the sacks. They were up there with the upper-echelon defensive linemen.”

Whether or not you agree with Hendrickson’s conclusion, that doesn’t sound like a sales pitch for a player who is looking to take less money just to stay where he is and Tuck has said that he’s looking forward to seeing what free agency has in store for him this year. The Giants could get in the way of that, but it may take more money than they’re willing to spend without an idea of what the rest of the league will be offering for the longtime member of their defense.

Giants showed clearly on the O-Line, that stating with guys to long kill the team. This 31 year old has a consistent history of shoulder injuries and seems to simply run out of juice in games.
Before last year, he was out more then in, and no I would not give him more because of this, he is on his last leg, let him see what he gets!

I love Tuck and I hope he finishes his career as a Giant. But lets be honest…..whatever money Justin winds up making this year, he should give 10% of it to the Redskins. He went sackless in 9 games and in 2 others recorded a half sack. Against the skins he recorded 6 of his total 11 for the year.

He’s important because he can easily play inside as well, something not all DE’s can do.

Tuck is a shell of what he was.
Most of his stats are from 1 game.

Loved him as a Giant, but let him walk.

Love Tuck but paying him the money it sounds like he wants is crazy. He is on the downside if a great career and we have other areas that need attention, OL, RB and LB and even CB… Tuck is an afterthought at this point!!
