As NFL teams research draft prospects, they’re usually going to find everything.

But LSU running back Jeremy Hill is making some of the research easier.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Hill mailed a letter to all 32 teams in advance of the combine, outlining his arrest record and offering two pages of character references.

Hill was arrested twice at LSU, including a simple battery charge for punching a man in the head outside a bar. That one violated his probation from a previous guilty plea to misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile in January 2012.

Hill was suspended for one game and a quarter of another for after the second arrest, but still led the Tigers with 1,401 yards last year.

While it’s not as if teams weren’t going to know about his past, owning the issue and being accountable will be viewed a positive sign for teams.
