The Colts advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs last season despite missing a couple of key members of the passing game.

Wide receiver Reggie Wayne missed nine games with a torn ACL and tight end Dwayne Allen had just one catch in the one game he played before a groin injury knocked him out for the season, leaving Andrew Luck to rely on others after completing 151 passes to the duo in 2012. Speaking from the combine this week, Colts General Manager Ryan Grigson said that Luck shouldn’t have to improvise that way again next season.

“From all the reports that I’ve been getting from our trainers and from the doctors in the meetings we’ve had, everyone’s going in the right direction. We’re optimistic about everyone,” Grigson said, via the Terre Haute Tribune-Star.

The Colts got a strong performance from T.Y. Hilton with Wayne out of the lineup and Da’Rick Rogers showed a lot of promise at the close of the season. Matching them with healthy returns from Wayne and Allen would make for a pretty good foundation for the offense in 2014.
