Sherriff confirms altercation between inmate and Aaron Hernandez

Aaron Hernandez AP

Bristol County Sherriff Thomas Hodgson confirmed to NBC 10 News in Cranston, R.I. that former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was involved in a prison altercation on Tuesday.

TMZ first reported Tuesday afternoon that Hernandez “beat up the guy pretty good” after the inmate allegedly involved in jawing with Hernandez throughout the day.

Hodgson didn’t elaborate on the nature of the altercation.

Hernandez remains segregated from the remainder of the prison population but still was brought into close enough proximity with the inmate to get into a fight.

He said the two are being investigated by the Bristol County House of Corrections.

Wait…which “two are being investigated”? The two inmates, or the two jailers who arranged their private meeting?

Cuz we kinda already know what happened concerning the inmates. Not much investigation needed there…

Considering that this is prison we’re talking about…I wonder if “jawing” has a different meaning than what we all think…yeah…

So before the beat-down, didn’t the imbecile realize that the last time a few dudes pissed him off he killed ‘em?

He’s an assassin dammit! An effin alpha-male Patriot ass-ass-in!

That’s the mark of a great franchise. Lame teams – like the Dolphins – have guys who make stupid remarks to each and give each other wedgies. Great teams – like the Pats – have guys who shoot people in the face, the head, and beat up a fellow inmate every once in while.

Was the guys name Wes and did he tell Aaron “rookie, you figure it out”?

  29. restorativejusticeprogram says: Feb 26, 2014 7:25 AM

This “fight” could only happen with the sanction of the guards. They not only allowed it to happen they organized it for their amusement.

  30. handsofsteelhartofstone says: Feb 26, 2014 7:55 AM

garbage. plain and simple. this guy should be the poster boy for public executions.

  31. chalkruz1989 says: Feb 26, 2014 8:03 AM

Aaron Hernandez is not in the real world anymore. In his given situation, he cannot allow for others to think that he’s soft.

Unfortunately for him, this “hard” demeanor is the reason why he’s in jail in the first place.

  33. usdcoyotesfan says: Feb 26, 2014 8:15 AM

At least let the other guy be someone like Golden Tate.

After the Packers-Seahawks game last year:

Tate: I know I had the ball.
ESPN reporter: Did you push off?
Tate: I don’t know what you’re talking about.

    Go steal some donuts, Golden.

You want to do the crime? You have to be willing to do the time.he may have won the battle but he lost the war, where he is, happen’s to be a far cry from the Ferrari, jet setting life style he lived before, and i could only imagine how much he think’s about the regret’s he has,, he sure has enough time on his hand’s to think about it..

I wonder when he’s 40 years old and having been in prison for nearly 2 decades if he’s going to think his “lifestyle” was worth it.

    Prison fights are AWESOME!

  40. bigdaddy44 says: Feb 26, 2014 9:43 AM

At least the Patriots did the right thing and immediately cut this guy. Most of his past incidents didn’t surface until well into this murder investigation. They also cut him at a huge football cost to the team, taking a massive cap hit. This should set an example for every team in the league. Are you listening, Ray-vens???

  41. buddysguys says: Feb 26, 2014 9:46 AM

This is going to make for a spectacular 30 for 30….CANT WAIT!

  42. commonsensedude says: Feb 26, 2014 9:57 AM

And with this episode, Aaron Hernandez has jumped a few spots in the forthcoming Prison Gang Rookie Draft. “We like him. He has quick hands,” noted Krazy-8 of The Disciples. “I can totally see him wearing our tattoo.”

  43. saxguru says: Feb 26, 2014 10:00 AM

I sincerely hope that Aaron didn’t succumb to temptation and let the n-word slip out while he was busy tuning up his adversary. I hear the NFL takes a dim view of such epithets.

  44. whyrunbackwardsyoullvomit says: Feb 26, 2014 10:05 AM

  46. deeznutz3d says: Feb 26, 2014 10:57 AM

So hes segregated from population but he was able to get close to a guy he had a feud with? Sounds like the guards wanted to see a fight.

  47. cochranjohnslim7slider says: Feb 26, 2014 11:22 AM

Hernandez has a violent nature? Didn’t see that coming.

  48. purplehaze28 says: Feb 26, 2014 11:56 AM

Behlicheat will find a way to get him out by OTAs.
