Former Lions safety Louis Delmas has seen a fair amount of interest around the league since he was released by Detroit and he followed up with one interested party on Friday.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Delmas visited with the Dolphins on Friday. The visit comes a day after Delmas was in New Orleans to talk to the Saints.

The Dolphins could lose safety Chris Clemons as a free agent, which would leave a hole in the secondary as Clemons has started the last 32 games for Miami. If Delmas did land with the Dolphins, he’d likely slot in next to Reshad Jones when the 2014 season gets underway.

Delmas has also visited with the Steelers and there’s believed to be interest from the Lions in a return if it comes at the right price.

No way the Lions can afford to match anybody’s financial offer. And wouldn’t make sense to bring him back unless the DB coach can come up with a plan to actually teach DB’s how to play the game. Do we have that in Detroit yet? Nobody has talked about that.

he’s obviously only going for either the weather or the money(maybe both). No way you want to leave a mess in Detroit and then go to a huge clusterf*(k in Miami!!!!

If they sign him hopefully they will eat up their free cap space and will leave Monroe alone in Baltimore. If they leave him alone and sign Monroe then Baltimore needs a safety, we could sign him but Jarius Byrd would be our first choice.

He’s looking for a payday where ever he can find it. Last time he did this tour he wound up back in Detroit.

Any contract with Delmas needs to have bonuses based on actually playing. Otherwise he’ll spend the entire season on injured reserve. That kind of contract and bonus structure was why he made sure to keep himself healthy enough to play every game last season.

The gossip is that he had to have his knee drained virtually every week last season. His durability to play another full season is questionable.

I understand Clemons is not an interception machine… But this guy can’t stay healthy.

    Clemons stinks.
