Titans cornerback Jason McCourty said recently that he was trying to get safety Bernard Pollard and cornerback Alterraun Verner to re-sign with the team ahead of free agency.

McCourty can now devote all of his lobbying efforts in Verner’s direction. Pollard went on Twitter on Monday afternoon to announce that he has agreed to terms with the Titans on an extension. There are no details about those terms, although Pollard said on Twitter that he will be a member of the team for the next couple of years.

Pollard had 99 tackles and three interceptions while starting all 16 games in his first season with the Titans. He’s long had the reputation as a hard hitter who did his best work against the run, something that didn’t change in 2013 although Pollard had a solid season in all phases.

The Titans are not using their franchise tag on Verner, which means that they’ll have a few days to sign him before he can start talking to other teams. If he chooses, Pollard could join McCourty in the campaign to keep Verner in Nashville.
