Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon and Dolphins punter Brandon Fields will participate in an NFL-United Service Organizations Inc. tour of the Middle East this year, the NFL announced on Monday.

Graham, Garcon and Fields will visit U.S. military bases in the region during the week-long tour, the NFL said.

The NFL and USO have partnered on trips sending league personnel to visit troops at various locations around the world for nearly 50 years.

“It’s an honor to go over and visit the troops in their environment, not only to see how they’re doing but also to appreciate what they’re doing to keep us safe back in America,” Garcon said in an NFL-issued statement Monday. “I’m so proud to be a part of this event and to be able to thank the real heroes in person.”

…even with Graham doing his disappearing act at times he’s still, without a doubt, the best TE in the league..

These football players and coaches are so gung ho on the military. And none of them have ever spent a day in a uniform not related to a sport.

I have never worn a uniform either, but I very much appreciate the military and I commend these young men for making the trip.
