The fourth quarterback selected in the 2007 NFL Draft has signed on with a CFL club.

John Beck, whom the Dolphins took with the No. 40 overall pick in 2007, has joined the British Columbia Lions, the team announced Tuesday.

Beck was most recently on an NFL roster with the Houston Texans in 2012. He also had a workout with the Bills in August as Buffalo searched for QB depth because of injuries.

Beck, 32, has made seven NFL regular season starts: four with Miami in 2007, and three with Washington in 2011.

Beck could compete for a reserve role with B.C. The club has also added former LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee to its roster.

JaMarcus Russell (No. 1, Oakland), Brady Quinn (No. 22, Cleveland) and Kevin Kolb (No. 36, Philadelphia) were the quarterbacks selected ahead of Beck in 2007.
