Bears bring back Jeremiah Ratliff

The Ratliff formerly known as Jay has a new name — and a new contract.

The Bears have announced that former Cowboys defensive lineman Jay Ratliff has signed the name “Jeremiah Ratliff” to a two-year contract to remain with the Bears.

Cut by the Cowboys after spending the early part of the season on the physically unable to perform list, Ratliff signed with the Bears in November.  He changed his name when he changed teams, and he started four games down the stretch.

The Bears note in the press release that they have re-signed 10 potential free agents, the most of any team in the NFL.  While significant, none of it matters unless those retained players help the team win.

Stick a fork in Jeremiah or Jay or whatever you want to call him. He is done.
