The Cardinals have signed exclusive rights free agent nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu, the club said Thursday.

Ta’amu, 23, appeared in 14 games for Arizona, notching seven tackles. He suffered a torn ACL in the Cardinals’ regular season finale against San Francisco.

A fourth-round pick of Pittsburgh in 2012, the 6-foot-3, 348-pound Ta’amu was released by the Steelers at the end of the 2013 preseason. He can potentially test restricted free agency next offseason and unrestricted free agency after the 2015 season.

Cardinals and 49ers will be battling for the NFC West title this year.

The Seahawks will be 7-9 at best.

I used to think the Pittsburgh West stuff was just posturing by the Steeler fans but no longer. Jesus Arizona, 2008 was a long time ago. Let it go. There’s a limit to the “if you can’t beat em, join em” mantra. I know Fitzgerald played for Pitt Panthers too but have some self-respect.

This dude was a beast in the middle. I hope the recovery goes well.

He a Dan can plug the middle as well as anyone (as seen by the #1 against the run ranking).

The 49ers rams and cardinals will be fighting for the NFC west next year and a chance to face The Vi kings in the playoffs.meanwhile the lowly cheating shehawks franchise will be back to their bottom dwelling like usual.SKOL

Being a Seattle guy I’ve followed Ta’amu since he played at UW. Good talent. Hope he doesn’t get into trouble again so he help that underrated Arizona defense excel next year.

    p.s. @thepftpoet you’re the biggest hater.

Pittsburgh West….nonsense….the last time the Pittsburgh Steelers were relevant, they had a really good Offensive Coordinator named Bruce Arians. #fact

This is what can happen when a team rides their high horse and releases a player for off-field issues. He turns into a beast at a position of need, but for another team. Sigh.

Still hate that the Steelers kept Hebron Fangupo instead of this guy. He might have only had 7 tackles in 14 games but he can occupy two blockers and get the linebackers some free tackles. No center in the league weighs 348. He’s a big component in AZ’s run defense, no pun intended.

NFC West is going to be storm trooping next year, whines are the worst of the lot guaranteed, you can tell harbaugh is lost he has it all but can’t get over the hump..

I like the guy he’s a top 5 coach but he doesn’t know when he’s in a natural slump or just getting beat?

I have to wonder how many people even know what a slump is or why its happening?

I am prolly revealing a lot here but my competing days are over to a degree..

a slump isn’t what you think it is, ever wonder why you can’t figure out why you are in a slump?

because your mind doesn’t know either, thats why you are in a slump, you are moving up from one level to the next and your subconscious has to put it altogether to keep it subconscious, you know it is just building that higher zone..

the best things to do while in a slump is to keep acquiring data for your subconscious to use to build that higher level, continue practicing and working out, find new routines and alternatives, your mind is simply building a zone for higher subconscious awareness..

we all go through it no matter what, if we are farmers, musicians, teachers and so on, jimmy won’t allow his mind to move up or
