Seahawks sign Jeron Johnson, Lemuel Jeanpierre to one-year deals

The Seahawks have signed safety Jeron Johnson and center Lemuel Jeanpierre to one-year contracts, the club said Friday.

Terms were not disclosed. Johnson and Jeanpierre were slated to be restricted free agents.

Jeanpierre, 26, started three regular season games at center for the Seahawks in 2013. He’s played in 47 regular season games for Seattle, starting eight.

The 25-year-old Johnson has appeared in 31 regular season games for Seattle in three seasons. He notched four special teams tackles and two defensive tackles in 2013, according to club statistics.

UPDATE 6:46 p.m. ET: Johnson signed his second-round tender from the Seahawks, according to Tom Pelissero of USA Today and also confirmed by PFT’s Curtis Crabtree.

Johnson is a pretty big signing. He is a stud for a backup and could fill in nicely if Kam or Earl go down

Jeron Johnson is a player. Loved watching him play for my Boise State Broncos. Hate the Seahawks, but excited that he is still in the league.

Should have came to Minnesota, you would have been great water boys!

I really like both these signings because when Max Unger was hurt there wasnt much drop off at the C position. Johnson has had injury problems but makes plays on special teams and Carroll loves to blitz with him in their bandit package. I feel much befter with him as a backup S than Maragos.

What’s in the water in Minnesota? Who trash talks after going 5-11?

    Vikings are laughable!
But even that is to much energy to waste on them~

LOL!! The Vikings team couldn’t make the cut as water boys for any of the other NFL teams!

Have you ever been to Minne? Its horrible! They are all just stuck INSIDE with cabin fever. Enjoy the snow ice and losing football. Vikings=Hawks triple A team…thanks for grooming the talent!!!!

Best to ignore the skolltrolls of minnesota. Having never won a Super Bowl, they don’t have much to battle with, other than a keyboard, anonymity, and a large bundle of envy. As a Seahawks fan, I KNEW the feeling.

Wasn’t a drop off? Jeanpierre has out played Unger when he’s gotten a chance. He could start for most teams.

The Vikes are best! How is your homeless Vikings doing? I bet Still can’t handle the fact your team sucks and you wish to accuse a team for a few players actions! Sad little man you are!

Notice the Vikings haven’t made the playoffs for 7 years straight?

Vikings. Hmmm….. Isn’t that a TV show? Why would the fans of a TV show post here?

  18. billybone says: Mar 7, 2014 6:56 PM

These Lavender Larry Minnesota trolls can talk all they want but it doesn’t change the fact they are still without a title.

The Seahawks are the real deal. They will be strong contenders for years to come. Pete Carroll has created a winning culture there

Cry baby seaderal fans crying about everything. Whaaaaaa my milks to cold. I hope the valcano erupts during a home game for drugged up seaderal. Worst fans in the NFL, you make me puke. Sherman cries at halftime half the time. “Ima punch you in the face”. Wilson sucks, cry about it druggies. All you seaderal fans cry about every thing. Thumbs down = crybaby

These were good signings. As was the second round tender of $2.14 million for Angry Doug.

Also, I hope the Vikes have a huge turnaround and play .500 ball this year. That would be a huge step forward for them, a real shot in the arm.
