Another Raven is arrested

Getty Images

It’s been a rough month for the Ravens.

In fewer than four weeks, three players on the team have been arrested.  Joining running back Ray Rice and receiver Deonte Thompson is guard Jah Reid.

According to the website of the Monroe County, Florida Sheriff’s office, Reid was arrested early Sunday on two misdemeanor charges of battery.

A third-round pick in 2011, appeared in 10 games with no starts in 2013.  He’s due to become a free agent next year.

    Absolutely perfect headline.

The Ravens are turning into the new Seahawks.

Except every player on their roster still doesn’t take PEDs.

As long as they play good the team will look the other way. Of course the Ravens will say he is getting counseling. Look at Rice and that video. As for Reid, he was not a starter, so the Ravens won’t have to worry about the “counseling” BS

  7. thelastpieceofcheese says: Mar 9, 2014 1:13 PM

Attracting society’s criminal element is a colossal sign of ravens team dysfunctionality.

  8. thevikesarebest says: Mar 9, 2014 1:14 PM

This why the relevant team that wears purple resides in Minnesota.SKOL

  9. thepftpoet says: Mar 9, 2014 1:14 PM

Notice how this never happens to the Vikings?

Our franchise is all classy players with clean records.

  10. jakec4 says: Mar 9, 2014 1:16 PM

Once upon a time they had high hopes for this guy. Just like Deonte Thompson he disappeared on the depth chart. These arrests are getting out of hand, but at least the last two were only scrubs. Harbaugh needs to cut someone and send a message probably.

  11. Coach John Harbaugh says: Mar 9, 2014 1:19 PM

    we win championships.

i strongly suggest others try it.

How quickly the Vikings’ trolls have forgotten about the love boat. I guess the harsh Minnesota winters have frozen too many brain cells.

Another player that remains on the team. They will give this guy a raise.

  17. packerfaninsandiego says: Mar 9, 2014 1:24 PM

I wonder if they will get off just like Ray Lewis did?

  18. realskipbayless says: Mar 9, 2014 1:24 PM

Haha the good ol classy ravens are at it again.

  19. filthymcnasty1 says: Mar 9, 2014 1:36 PM

Something happens once they put that purple jersey on. But usually it’s that other hapless and tasteless purple jersey.

  20. 1rockyracoon says: Mar 9, 2014 1:39 PM

Shouldn’t a team face consequences for having so many lawbreakers? You could call it the Raven Rule. You start off forfeiting a 7th round pick and each arrest after that moves the pick up one round.

  21. jerruhjones says: Mar 9, 2014 1:43 PM

That’s one way to cut salary cap money!

    Go Browns!!!

  22. scw1993 says: Mar 9, 2014 1:43 PM

The all-felon franchise ravens, with b’moron fans the first ones to criticize other teams with issues. Ravens have sunk to the bottom of the heap, no character players, with an overpaid qb who couldn’t come close to the playoffs. Who’s going to be the next one arrested?

  23. theeperspective says: Mar 9, 2014 1:49 PM

Who cares. Jah Reid sucks. So did Deonte Thompson. Heck, so did Ray Rice last year. They’ll be ok.

  24. kyblue33 says: Mar 9, 2014 1:50 PM

Harbaugh states that the team will be hiring a counselor, Ray Lewis to teach proper behavior after the commission of a felony.

4 Baltimore Ravens are in the backseat of a car…who is driving?? The police

  26. steelcurtainn says: Mar 9, 2014 2:16 PM

Well what do you know another raven arrested for criminal activity. Looks like the ravens will get first in something this year.

  27. ravensterps says: Mar 9, 2014 2:17 PM

Until THIS offseason, the Ravens had only 4 arrests in Harbaugh’s 5 seasons, and two of those players never played a down (one was Rolando McClain right before his retirement).

This has indeed been a rough month.

  28. djstat says: Mar 9, 2014 2:24 PM

As a ravens fan, this is a blessing, Jah Reid SUCKS. Cut him

  29. Moudabo says: Mar 9, 2014 2:53 PM

Looks like now that Ray Ray Lewis has retired, and Ed Reed moved on, the Raven players don’t fear being held accountable for their actions. Harbaugh almost lost this team a couple of times, once even during their SB run, before the team leaders stepped in. Now with Lewis and Reed gone, Harbaugh will lose this team for good. No one respects him.

  30. everyonesuksbutme says: Mar 9, 2014 2:57 PM

It’s the ravens “uncle ray ray” culture…..

  31. mikebrownistheworstownerinprosports says: Mar 9, 2014 3:42 PM

So now that the Ravens are piling up arrests, will they be ridiculed for 7+ years like the Bengals were? The only bad year for arrests with the Bengals was 2006, but you wouldn’t have guessed it.

  32. itsfootballbaby says: Mar 9, 2014 4:09 PM

On a positive note, they still have quite a ways to go before they are the Lions of a season or two ago. . . .

  36. lionshawk says: Mar 9, 2014 5:06 PM

Where is the talk about how undisciplined John Harbaugh is as a coach. Jim Schwartz was roasted because everyone drew direct correlation between off season problems to the coaches. Reality is teams can’t be involved in players offseason like before and the coaches shouldn’t be blamed when idiots act like idiots.

  37. offtrackmind says: Mar 9, 2014 5:30 PM

    Sad state of affairs there

Lets see assault off the field, wife or GF beating, REALLY TUFF TEAM OFF THE FIELD, ROTFLMAO. No wonder there losing they don’t play against women teams in the NFL !!!!

  40. brianjoates says: Mar 9, 2014 9:52 PM

Why even publish articles about arrests anymore? The NFL office might shake their head at it, but the owners don’t care. Can a guy contribute to help make a team better? Can this guy help sell tickets? Until there is a giant stink and people stop watching or spending dollars, anyone with NFL talent that can contribute will get a jersey regardless of criminal history.

Seriously funny listening to the boat people of Minnesota claim superiority here! The IQ level in Minnesota has to be sub-50!

  42. kelsey59 says: Mar 9, 2014 10:42 PM

I guess PFT isn’t interested in giving details. He was arrested in a bar fight at a strip club in Key West.

    NFL lacks character.

    Spousal Abuse
    Kids out of wedlock

Seems the Commissioner with his $42 Million salary can not do a damn thing.

Owners are like pimps. Modern day plantation owners.

  50. SmashMouthFootball says: Mar 10, 2014 9:14 AM

He and Deonte should be focused on making the team but a fight, in a bar, there’s a shocker. Ravens do need to tighten it up a bit.

  51. thegenoatkinsdiet says: Mar 10, 2014 9:42 AM

Has John Harbaugh lost the locker room, or is Joe Elite completely inept at running it? Whichever, they are doing a great job at keeping the Arrest Watch meter in the single digits.

  52. ljsherard says: Mar 10, 2014 1:16 PM

  53. tonybot3 says: Mar 10, 2014 1:48 PM

Simply put… the jails are safer than the streets of Baltimore.. Players know this. Go Browns.
