Cardinals offered Dansby two-year deal worth $10 million to $12 million

It’s been a good year for Karlos Dansby.

Cut by the Dolphins last year after Dannell Ellerbe arrived via free agency, the veteran linebacker returned to Arizona on a one-year, $2.5 million deal.

After a strong season to Arizona, the Cardinals have offered Dansby a two-year deal worth $10 million to $12 million, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.  Dansby, the No. 23 player on the PFT Free Agent Hot 100, hasn’t taken it, opting instead to test the market.

Dansby’s decision suggests that he’s got something else cooking for even more. Not bad for a 32-year-old linebacker who shouldn’t be making that kind of money.

Please Please take it. Dansby was a beast last year. In the NFC West we are talking defense. Dansby was one reason the Cardinals were one of the best.

What a cheap offer by a cheap organization.

The Cards are pretenders with quitter QB while the two titans of the division will battle for control of the NFC.

I know that I have heard people mention the Redskins, and to be honest we got a lot of good years out of Fletcher, however I would like to see them go a little younger at LB.

He’ll end up taking that deal in Arizona.

He knows it’s without a doubt his best opportunity to succeed. Already got his big payday in Miami and learned that lesson.

Can’t believe the Dolphins cut this guy to over pay for Ellerbe. Wait, yes I can.

Bye Bye Karlos….. Not worth more than 4 per….Certainly on the backside of career and with DWash and Minter on roster and UFAs he is replaceable….Head back to Miami and tell us how that works out for you

A smart and fair offer by Keim. Any team offering more would be making a mistake.

Minter is waiting to take over anyway.

Whisenhunts man love for him will put him in Tennessee… Dansby is worth what ever someone is will to shell out for him… Downside of good career but not worth what Cards offered… With DWash and Minter we are in good shape

Why shouldn’t he make that kind of money? Guy was one of the best LB’s in the league last season.

    Ariani1985:

GB’s Ted Thompson does NOT pay 32-year-old LBs $6M or more per year.

GB is one of the last teams Dansby will be playing for in ’14.

I held out one time like Karlos. Of course my offer was for $10 to $12/hr.

AZ is a joke of a sports town. Bunch of flippin fair weather losers

  17. rushbacker says: Mar 10, 2014 1:01 AM

If this guy makes it to the market, Denver needs to pounce like a fat kid on a twinkie. They desperate need to upgrade the size and athleticism of their back seven, and Dansby does both at a position of immediate need. Dude is a playmaker.

Why are the Dolphins a loser organization, because they spend 40-50 million on Ellerbe who had one sack last year and let go of Dansby who had 6.5 and is one of the best linebackers in the league. Now they are signing Albert, a big lump in the run game and one of the lower rated offensive tackles in free agency. Waste that money the rest of the league continues to laugh long after Martin and Incognito.

James Harrison and Brian Urlacher are a couple of aging LBs who turned down hometown offers they were “dissatisfied” with.

They never played another snap of meaningful football afterwards.

    ________

Based on what ???? Based on D’Quell Jackson’s MONUMENTALLY stupid contract by the colts ??? Irsay is losing his mind, and is quickly becoming the Al Davis of our generation….

Just because one team is moronic, doesn’t mean the other 31 teams have to be just as stupid.

Actually… 2 years 12 Million is a real nice offer for Karlos Dansby.. that is almost too much… but don’t for one second think it’s “cheap”, that is asinine.

$10-$12 Mill is a lot of money for 2 years.

This guy was brought in to help the defense in D Wash’s absence , Honestly he came in and exceeded his expectations.

Whoever said he is even worth 4 mill must have not watched him play, 4 int’s , 2 TD’s ,122 tackles ,6.5 sacks….that’s a real game changer.
