Jermichael Finley waiting on clearance, but has trips planned

Jermichael Finley AP

When free agency opens in 24 hours, and players are able to take visits, most of them will be ready to make a move.

But one is still waiting for a very important piece of information.

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, Packers tight end Jermichael Finley still hasn’t received medical clearance, though he has multiple trips planned.

Wherever he goes, that team will put him through a comprehensive physical, after his recent neck surgery.

But reports have been hopeful throughout, with Packers officials they were “open and optimistic” about his return.

If his neck checks out, Finley should draw plenty of attention in a market that lacks many receiving weapons at the position.

Jermichael Finley’s golden opportunity finally arrived!

He can leave that terrible city of Green Bay.

No more living in a trashy town!

I am in no position to judge the decisions other people make about their careers and health, but personally I can’t imagine ever trying to play football again after that injury.

Jermichael Finley – 26 years old, one Super Bowl ring.

Minnesota Vikings organization – 53 years old, zero Super Bowl rings.

    SkoLOL.

    He must be so pumped.

    Trashy town?

I live in Minneapolis, and there have been no less than 3 murders here within the past week. Say what you want about Green Bay, but you couldn’t pay me $1,000 to walk through North Minneapolis.

Here’s hoping this injury experience gives him a little humility. This Packers fan would like to see him back in Green Bay, minus the pumped up rooster dance after every single catch.

Too bad for the queen trolls Finley said he wants to remain with the Pack because they are winners much the same reason Allen wanted off that jv team in Minnesota. Embrace The Suck!

Finley and Quarless both probably gone. Another hole to fill. Finley btw showed a lot more maturity last year.

Finley is a good player but if his heart isn’t in it then retire. That was a real nasty injury. What ever he decides may he flourish.

  16. ariani1985 says: Mar 10, 2014 5:09 PM

Probably wants to go to a team that actually can get to the second round of the playoffs!

Good for you Jermichael, leave that backwards cultist village behind and enter civilization. I can see you going to the Vikings since your agent is from Minnesota or I can see you going to the Texans.

Fin was really putting together an impressive season prior to the injury. If it checks out ok he’ll be back in Green an Gold where he will win another Super Bowl.

Viking fans live in the dumpster behind lambeau field and wait for quality players to arrive.

I suspect that Jermichael will cherish his Packer Superbowl ring for the rest of his life.

I can understand a player wanting warmer weather or more cosmo city, but I’m hoping Finley will return to the Pack. He matured and got his hands back and played well the last 1/2 of 2012 and 1st half of 2013. If not the Pack, best wishes and thanks for the good times.

I wonder what his kid fears more —- his Dad getting hurt playing football, or his Dad having to spend more time in Green Bay.

Both could give a kid nightmares.

Sad to see how jealousy is eating away at all the ViQueen trolls! Must suck to have to cheer for a perennial loser! As a Packer fan, the team with the most World Championships in the history of the NFL, I CAN’T CONCEIVE IT!

Excuse me, did I see right. Someone said Green Bay is a terrible and trashy town to live in? What armpit or rock do you live under?
