With the unrestricted free agent market set to open this afternoon, certain positions are already picked over.
And teams are scrambling to keep their own to prevent a vacancy in a thin market.
According to Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Giants are close to a deal to keep kicker Josh Brown.
The former seventh-round pick had a career year, hitting 88.5 percent of his field goals.
He also joins a growing list of kickers who have re-signed with their teams, including Jay Feely, Graham Gano, Billy Cundff, and Nick Folk, who was franchised by the Jets.
There are still some quality veterans on the market, namely Adam Vinatieri, Phil Dawson and Steven Hauschka, but the market is moving quickly.
