The Redskins have bolstered their linebacking corps and special teams coverage units.

The club has reached a three-year deal with Buccaneers reserve linebacker Adam Hayward, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reported Tuesday.

An eighth-year pro, the 29-year-old Hayward has started 13 regular season games in his NFL career. Hayward (6-1, 240) projects to inside linebacker in Washington’s 3-4 scheme and would also figure to be a core special teams player.

Special Team/Depth sign. We are making great moves so far. Building depth. Thank God I’m a Redskin fan. #HTTR

Actually bummed about this; Hayward is a special teams stud. Not really much of a starter talent-wise, but a beast on kick coverage.

    Redskin is offensive and disparaging.

Addressing the weakest unit of the team makes perfect sense. It is about time Special Teams is a focus and I am sure the legendary Hall of Fame Redskins coach, George Allen, approves! HTTR!

this could turn out to be the best move the Skins have made. He may be the new starter to replace Fletcher. Remember London was 31 years old when he came to D.C. so Hayward is coming here for an opportunity to start and show what he can do.

When is the last time the Redskins have won a playoff game? Was RGMe 5 years old?

I’m better – what does that have to do with anything?

imbetter isn’t good with google but it was in 2005 when the greatest safety ever ran a fumble back for a TD in Tampa.

Replacing the gap that Lorenzo Alexander left with this signing. Good move.
