Cowboys sign defensive tackle Terrell McClain

Terrell McClain, Jordan Todman AP

The Cowboys, following the pattern of last year, continue to pick through the scraps for defensive line help.

According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, the Cowboys have signed defensive tackle Terrell McClain to a three-year deal.

McClain was with the Texans last year, after originally entering the league with the Panthers as a third-round pick.

In fact, he joins a bit of a parade of former Panthers draft picks rolling through Dallas, along with Nick Hayden, and the recently released Everette Brown and Corvey Irvin.

The Panthers have actually had some good defensive linemen in recent years, but none of them ever seem to make it to Dallas.

Washington has the most complete team in the division. The rest of the NFC is fighting for 2nd place. #HTTR

I can’t help but laugh at the lunacy of Allas. They can’t seem to figure out that they don’t have the NFL intelligence to pick good players. Jerry and his boys do know how to bilk money out of mindless fans though. That’s all he cares about anyway….. 8 & 8 is all he needs to keep the money rollin in….LOL

“Washington has the most complete team in the division.”

Yeah, all they need is a QB.

Hayden started and played the entire season as the 3T, how exactly is that ‘not sticking in Dallas’?

Don’t worry Cowboys fans…somehow you will still finish 8-8.

He is a rotational player, not a starter. Why write about it as he is going to start?

Cowboys continue to pick up whatever comes off the trash truck leaving Carolina.

Nobody with any football IQ can think they signed McClain to be anything more than depth, and he is better depth than what they had last year. This is a minimum wage signing in NFL terms. I think Jerry will make a play for Henry Melton and if that does not work out they will try and address it in the draft. I do not like releasing Ware but I think it was the right move. The Cowboys are in salary cap hell now from over paying older players past their prime.
