As the Jets recruit receiver Eric Decker and ponder pursuing running back Maurice Jones-Drew and hope quarterback Mike Vick will show interest in the Jets, they’ve kept one of their own.

Per a league source, defensive tackle Leger Douzable has re-signed with the Jets.  It’s a one-year deal.

Douzable appeared in all 16 games last season with the Jets, his first with the team.  He previously has played for the Jaguars, Rams, and Giants.

He managed 1.5 sacks last year despite having no starts.

  1. I was very impressed with him right from the preseason to week 17. He’s always around the ball eating up blocks or making plays. Very underrated player. Great signing.

  2. Looks like a new contract was douzable…

Yeah… like I’m the first one to come up with that joke 😄

  3. Woody, John, Rex, Marty…Please Please Please do not sign Vick…I want to be able to root for my team and won’t be able to do so if this guy is signed. I’m not one of these people who say he shouldn’t be allowed in the league, but please please please not on my team…please…

Aside from the fact that he is an injury and turnover machine..

On top of that NYC and boroughs have many of the most active animal rights and animal rescue communities in the world. Let him be someone else’s problem.
