Per a league source, Ihedigbo is expected to sign with the Lions.
The move would reunite Ihedigbo, most recently a Raven, with former Ravens defensive backs coach Teryl Austin. Lions coach Jim Caldwell hired Ihedigbo to coordinate the defense.
A player with six years experience, Ihedigbo also has played for the Patriots and the Jets. In 2013, he started all 16 regular-season games for the first time in his career.
Before free agency began, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press explained on PFT Live that he expects the Lions to target a receiver and safety in free agency. With Golden Tate signed and Ihedigbo apparently next, mission accomplished.
