Scratch a quarterback off the list of free agents available.

Tarvaris Jackson indicated via his Twitter account Wednesday night that he is set to return to the Seattle Seahawks for another season.

A team spokesman confirmed the move is expected to happen.

Jackson returned to Seattle last season to serve as backup quarterback to Russell Wilson after being released by the Buffalo Bills. The Seahawks had traded Jackson to Buffalo in 2012 after electing to go with Wilson and Matt Flynn in the battle for their starting job.

Jackson appeared in relief duty only for Seattle last season, appearing in three regular season game and the Super Bowl. He completed 10 of 13 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown with a 140.2 passer rating. He had a terrific preseason as well for Seattle, completing 26 of 36 passes for 357 yards, three touchdowns and a 131.4 passer rating. He did not throw an interception in any game action last year.

Jackson wanted to stay in Seattle and the Seahawks wanted him back. Jackson joins Wilson and B.J. Daniels as quarterbacks under contract with Seattle for next season.

For Vikings fans: Tavares Jackson, Superbowl Champion. And he played in the big game.

The last Viking QB to play in a Superbowl (loss) is now 74 years old.

Once had to play hurt because a healthy Charlie Whitehurst was so bad. I’m happy that Tavaris is a Super Bowl champion and Whitehurst is not.

I already know Viking fans are flooding this Seahawk thread with non-sense. So I want to make sure the farm team is set straight.

T-Jack being better than any QB on your roster. I would go as far to say I would say his back up BJ Daniels would start over Ponder/Cassell.

Poor Vikings. Tarvaris Jackson has more Super Bowl rings than any Viking player ever. Looks like Chilly was right after all!

Very happy to see TJack getting re-signed. Great backup, knows the Seahawks offense and is well-liked and respected by his teammates.

They had to keep pace with the niners. They had to counter the gabert signing, interesting to see how this pans out

You know it’s bad when you break your own news.

I love this signing. Tavarius knows the team, coaches, plays and comes cheap. 12’s are excited.
Watch us develop bj Daniels for a bit- to see if he has trade value later

Good for you and the Seahawks, Mr. Jackson. There is something to be said for stability. Not uprooting and moving every year has it’s advantages. Especially when you’re on the best team in the world.

Good, not wishing any ill towords young Mr. Wilson but as a Rams fan I hope T-jack starts a lot of games for the Hawks.

T jax got his ring the only way anyone associated with the Vikings (aka our farm team) can, by going to Seattle. Jared Allen is next.

Yea! We love T-Jack, his peers loves T-Jack, he loves the team, the city. And he is a great security blanket. T-Jack wants another ring! This is good news! GO HAWKS!
