Bengals host a pair of guards

With Anthony Collins in Tampa, the Bengals will be moving Andrew Whitworth back to left tackle for the 2014 season.

That leaves them with Clint Boling, who is rehabbing a torn ACL, and the recently re-signed Mike Pollak as in-house possibilities at left guard, although Pollak may also be in the mix at center. On Friday, the team met with two players who could be added to that mix.

The Bengals announced that Vladimir Ducasse and Uche Nwaneri each paid the team a visit. It’s the first visit we’ve heard about for either player since free agency opened on Tuesday.

Ducasse was considered a project when the Jets took him in the second round of the 2010 draft, but Ducasse never really progressed beyond that label. He started five games in four years and his last run as a starter ended early last season when the Jets turned to rookie Brian Winters. Nwaneri was released by the Jaguars early this month and started 92 games for the team over the last seven seasons. He’d be a likelier bet than Ducasse to make a case for the starting job.
