Michael Oher visiting the Titans, then Raiders

Michael Oher AP

The Ravens were able to retain their left tackle, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to be able to keep the blind side intact.

According to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com, right tackle Michael Oher will visit the Titans today. Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun says he has a visit with the Raiders on deck after that.

While Leigh Anne Touhy might not like the idea of her adopted son setting foot in the Volunteer state, Oher would find a team with a big need there.

The Titans just cut longtime right tackle David Stewart, and have a big hole there.

So Oher might have to get his family used to the idea that he’ll be setting up shop in Nashville, and maybe they’ll let his brother flip the coin before the game.

I was amazed watching both Steelers/Ravens games this year that Oher moves before the snap nearly every play and got called for it maybe once.

Awesome personal story Michael Oher but best of luck. We’ve had enough false starts at the worst possible moment.

Why wouldn’t Sandra Bullock want Mr. Blindside to play for the Titans?

I’m pretty sure most Ravens fans are done with this guy.

Hope the ravens facility has an emergency exit door like the ones in the back of buses. Someone’s going to get hurt in that mad rush to the door.

Ummm. Doesn’t his family live in tenn? Maybe need to research that movie.

Marshal Yanda actually had more false starts than Oher did this year.

  8. ninetysixer says: Mar 14, 2014 10:29 AM

as a Ravens fan, hate to see him go, yes he has problems with false starts, but he can play both tackle positions effectively….is a great safety net in case your starting Left Tackle goes down.

the Raven fans who know better, know this kid did nothing but get worst in his time in Baltimore.

Right now he maybe a good Guard, there is no way a smart GM would bring this kid in to start at either Tackle spot.

The Raiders cured alot of their false starts a year ago, maybe they can cure his. the Raiders are looking for Smash-mouth monsters on the O-Line (Finally). I think he would fit in.

I really hope he does well there.

    Should’ve kept Veldheer.

Great guy, works hard, incredible story! However, the blind side will be just fine after resigning Eugene Monroe (which was the whole purpose.)

Oher could play “lights out” at times but then he would play awful at times as well. You can’t resign a guy who’s continually regressed his whole career.
    I wish him luck though.

Oher has definitely improved over the years. And he is not terrible like so many Ravens fan make him out to be.

Yall, he’s from Memphis, why would his family NOT want him to play just 3 hours away from home?!?!?

  16. baltimoresnativeson says: Mar 14, 2014 11:09 AM

He is a better right tackle than anything we currently have on the roster. I say keep him.

  17. dowhatifeellike says: Mar 14, 2014 11:12 AM

Among all free agent tackles he graded the worst last year at -7.7. Monroe was +22. Good riddance.

  18. ninetysixer says: Mar 14, 2014 11:12 AM

Memphis is 3 hours from Nashville? by helicopter?

  19. raiderlyfe510 says: Mar 14, 2014 11:20 AM

This is the best O Lineman of the free agency crop. I don’t care about rankings. People who do the ranking don’t look beyond the surface. Oher’s play slipped because he lost John Matsko. One of the best Teachers in the game. Oher should be a beast under Sparano. Raiders need to give him that Saffold contract. He’s way better than Veldheer and Saffold.

Oher’s family are not fans of the University of Tennessee because they went to Ole Miss. I think they like the state of Tennessee. They live there, you know.

  21. dowhatifeellike says: Mar 14, 2014 11:22 AM

Average pass blocker, lousy run blocker, a mountain of penalties. If football had a WAR calculation, he would grade out below replacement level. And of course he’s going to want good money.

  22. starchybunker says: Mar 14, 2014 11:30 AM

LOL, there’s a big difference between the University of Tennessee and the Titans (and half a state)…I’m sure Oher’s leech, er I mean adopted mama doesn’t care where he plays as long as he gets paid like a “blind side” protector…

    Just reading tea leaves…

RT protects the blindside of a lefty QB.

    Hello Mike Vick.

  24. bunkslurpscrabmustard says: Mar 14, 2014 11:37 AM

This guy has just had a very rough time. He has all the potential to be a solid RT, but his false start problems alone are enough to just destroy any teams successful offensive drives.

My “other” team is the Falcons. Wouldn’t mind seeing him in Atlanta. He can’t be much worse than Sam Baker. Plus, do the Falcons even have a RT right now?
