“Nothing happening” with Cromartie and the Cardinals

Several of you have pointed out an interesting Twitter exchange between Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson and free-agent cornerback Antonio Cromartie.

The messages, far less interesting than cornerbacks Richard Sherman and DeAngelo Hall trading barbs, seem to suggest that Cromartie will be joining the Cardinals very soon.

Not yet, a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT.

“Nothing [is] happening,” the source said regarding the possibility of Cromartie joining the Cardinals.  The source added that the Twitter messages aren’t surprising, because Peterson has been actively recruiting Cromartie to join the team.

Cromartie was cut last week by the Jets, due to a sky-high cap number.  The Jets haven’t closed the door on bringing him back.  To date, they have yet to sign a replacement.

He should head to Minnesota, that NFC North LAST place defense needs all the help it can get.

They better get something going……they are losing the arms race with the Pats. Heck; the arms race is between the Pats and Broncos……..the Jets are looking like a lost 3rd world country about to be swallowed up……

Yeah…he tweeted PP “we gonna make it happen bro” just to mess with him. Deleted tweet & backtracking comments to keep leverage.

Haha can’t wait for this tandem in the secondary in AZ.

I am willing to look past the fact the he doesn’t know his kids names. I know he has a crew of them and all, but still. He should know them all. Anyways, he is leaps and bounds better than Powers. I hope Keim gets this deal done. Having two good cover corners with that blitzing front 7 will be nasty. Powers and Bell were terrible in coverage last season. Signing Cromartie and draft Dee Ford will be nice…

This guy will be completely broke in 3 years from back child support payments alone. Trojans are $5 a box, and half the fun, but worth it in the long run

Sounds like Cromartie’s agent is doing damage control.
