Bengals announce visit with Marshall Newhouse

Tackle Marshall Newhouse started 29 games for the Packers in 2011 and 2012, but the team opted to go with other players instead of returning him to the starting lineup in 2013 after Bryan Bulaga was lost for the season with a knee injury.

That doesn’t send a message of great interest in a continued working relationship and Newhouse is looking for a new team to call his own this offseason. The Bengals announced Tuesday that Newhouse has visited with the team.

With Anthony Collins signing in Tampa, Andrew Whitworth will be moving back to left tackle after kicking inside to guard last season. The Bengals also parted ways with last year’s starting center Kyle Cook, leaving them with a need to address the depth on the offensive line. They visited with Vladimir Ducasse and Uche Nwaneri as part of their search on that front before Newhouse paid them a visit.

Newhouse joined the Packers as a fifth-round pick in 2010 and played in 15 games, starting twice, last season.
