Henry Melton is dealing with a lawsuit after allegedly biting a man in Dallas, but he’s leaving town in search of a new team

Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that defensive tackle Henry Melton will go from visiting the Cowboys (and being sued for allegedly taking a bite out of a Dallas bar owner) to visiting the Rams.

Melton is coming off of a torn ACL and would join Kendall Langford and Michael Brockers on the interior of a good Rams defensive line. He’s also visited the Vikings and Seahawks while also drawing some interest from the Bears and others.

Melton is expected to keep talking with other teams as his tour of NFL teams continues in St. Louis.

UPDATE 9:42 a.m. ET: An earlier version of this post included Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports’ report that defensive end Anthony Spencer is also visiting the Rams. LaCanfora has withdrawn that report, making it twice in the last few days that Spencer has erroneously been linked with St. Louis.

oops Henry, an idea to get pushed back 5 yards on every play doesn’t seem to generate much $ for you.

I’m sorry, but can we go back to that “allegedly taking a bite out of a man” thing ?

If he’s visited this many teams, there’s an issue with his medical.
Resign with Bears for another one year proof-it contract and hit free agency again next year, big man.

You want a ring, sign with Seattle. You want to finish the season with a loss, sign with anyone else. The only competition in the NFL next year is for the best loser.

    Don’t bite anyone Henry!

This is pretty simple. He rolled out of Dallas without a contract because he couldn’t pass a physical. Buyer beware.

LaCanfora has become the fountain of misinformation. From this point forward any report linked with his name should be considered untrue. I do not care if he reports the world is ending and I see plagues onfold I still will not believe him.

His injury must be looked at by teams and perhaps that’s where it fell through in Dallas. Got to like that Melton is under 30 and quite familiar with Marinelli’s defense but can’t afford to pay a guy who is injured.

I’m still curious how you bite a guy in the kidney — does Henry have abnormally large canines to go along with his weak ACLs?

Don’t come to MN, the catering is bad and you might’ve tempted to bite the caterer!

    Bon Appetit-o!

Ironically, in free agency, it’s now Henry that’s getting several nibbles.

LOL!! Biting? This dude is 6’3″ and almost 300lbs. and he’s biting! I really would expect something different from a guy his size.
