Bortles is trying to drop back faster

On Monday, Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater conducted a Pro Day workout.  Shaun King of Pro Football Talk on NBCSN was there to interview Bridgewater.

On Wednesday, Central Florida’s Blake Bortles conducted a Pro Day workout.  And Shaun was there again.

The former NFL quarterback asked the soon-to-be NFL quarterback to identify one specific thing Bortles hoped to show during his pitch-and-catch session for prospective employers.

“I think I’d have to say the tempo in my drop,” Bortles said.  “There’s times on the college film where I was lazy and slow in getting back and I wanted to come out of this workout with nobody saying his feet look slow or anything like that so, I really wanted to speed that up.”

We’ll play the full interview at normal speed on Pro Football Talk on NBCSN, which airs every weekday at 5:30 p.m. ET.  If you’re not watching it, you should be.  And if you’re not home in time to watch it, you should DVR it.  And if you need periodic reminders about the show, you should follow the show’s Twitter feed.

Jeff Godfrey WR (5-10, 185) also worked out at the pro day.

Godfrey STARTED AT QUARTERBACK AHEAD OF BORTLES for two years. Even though he is a bit younger.

Tells you all you need to know about this lump of dough.
