The Colts made it to the playoffs and beat the Chiefs in the Wild Card round despite the losses of wide receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dwayne Allen to season-ending injuries.
General Manager Ryan Grigson indicated last month that the team was optimistic that both players would be ready to go in time for training camp this summer. For Allen, that’s even more time than he says he needs.
Allen is doing pilates three days a week as part of his overall rehab schedule and says that he feels totally back after the October hip surgery that brought his season to a premature end.
“I’m great. I’m actually back to 100 percent,” Allen said, via the team’s website.
The return of Allen and Wayne along with the addition of wide receiver Hakeem Nicks offers the promise of an even more potent Colts offense in 2014 than the one we saw last season. For the other teams in the AFC South, that’s not great news a year after they fell well short of the standard set by Indianapolis.
