Dwayne Allen says he’s 100 percent after hip surgery

The Colts made it to the playoffs and beat the Chiefs in the Wild Card round despite the losses of wide receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dwayne Allen to season-ending injuries.

General Manager Ryan Grigson indicated last month that the team was optimistic that both players would be ready to go in time for training camp this summer. For Allen, that’s even more time than he says he needs.

Allen is doing pilates three days a week as part of his overall rehab schedule and says that he feels totally back after the October hip surgery that brought his season to a premature end.

“I’m great. I’m actually back to 100 percent,” Allen said, via the team’s website.

The return of Allen and Wayne along with the addition of wide receiver Hakeem Nicks offers the promise of an even more potent Colts offense in 2014 than the one we saw last season. For the other teams in the AFC South, that’s not great news a year after they fell well short of the standard set by Indianapolis.

Players are always 100% after an injury.

Plus the returns of Vic Ballard and Ahmad Bradshaw in the backfield with TRich.

Colts start each season with a ton of weapons, and then the stockpile dwindles down after week 1. If they could somehow keep everyone healthy into the playoffs, they’d be terrifying.

Allen is young enough, and the injury was early enough in the season, for him to have fully recovered by now.

Happy to hear him confirm that he’s healthy. He’s one of the best young tight ends in the NFL if you care about blocking and not just receiving.

Keep Andrew Luck upright, don’t lose half of your offensive skill players like the Colts did last year and this team is going to crush it this year.

Colts offense is as good as anyone’s. Super bowl bound

This kid has a chance to really break out this year if he is 100%. That is some group of weapons in the passing game.
